SEN / ASD Teacher - Permanent

The school provides specialist education and care to pupils aged 10-16 who have a diagnosis of Autism and some additional needs such as mental health difficulties. Your responsibilitiesFor this Teacher role, you will deliver GCSE or Functional Skills English and Maths to pupils on a one to one or small group basis. You will an inspiring Teacher who can engage pupils effectively and is enthusiastic and well-organised. Flexible in your approach, you will be sensitive to the needs of children with ASD and Mental Health Difficulties. You will be calm, approachable and committed to pursuing the best possible outcomes for pupils with a strong desire to enable them to develop their potential. You will be confident in planning, preparing and delivering lessons as well as assessing and reporting on pupil's progress. What you will need to succeedYou will have a passion for working with children and young people who have additional needs. You will be a caring and empathetic person who is sensitive to the needs of children with SEND. You will be good at building relationships and work well in a team to engage pupils effectively. You will need emotional resilience and the ability to support children with their mental health difficulties.
