Management Accountant Fast-Track Progression
York (approximately 2 miles from the city centre)
£40,000 - £45,000
This is not your typical Management Accountant position.
We're partnering with a rapidly growing multi-site organisation looking for an ambitious finance professional to join at a pivotal stage of expansion. With new locations planned and the finance function set to grow significantly over the next 12 months, this role offers genuine progression into a more senior leadership position.
Working closely with an experienced Finance Director, you'll gain exposure across the entire finance function, combining management accounting responsibilities with hands-on operational finance activity. The Opportunity
This role is intentionally broad and hands-on.
Initially, you'll take ownership of monthly management accounts while also supporting transactional finance activities including cash flow management, reconciliations, payroll support, banking, ledgers and process improvement. It's a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to understand every moving part of a finance function before progressing into a more senior leadership role.
As the business grows, the role will naturally evolve towards:
- Reviewing management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow planning
- Commercial analysis
- Team leadership and mentoring
- Supporting strategic business decisions
About You
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong all-round accounting experience
- Happy to remain hands-on while developing your leadership skills
- Ambitious, proactive and looking for genuine career progression
- Strong Excel and finance systems knowledge
