You will have genuine ownership of the tax function, with the opportunity to influence processes, identify efficiencies and play a key role in managing tax risk across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for a broad range of tax activities across the UK, providing technical expertise and ensuring all reporting and compliance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading UK tax reporting, including VAT, Intrastat, Corporation Tax and relevant employee-related taxes
  • Preparing accurate and timely tax information for month-end, statutory and internal reporting
  • Managing transfer pricing documentation, including Local File requirements and reporting
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, HMRC, external tax advisors and third-party providers
  • Monitoring changes in UK tax legislation and assessing their impact on the business
  • Supporting tax planning opportunities, including capital allowance optimisation and tax-efficient structures
  • Providing specialist tax input into new products, projects and business initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, controls and reporting
  • Supporting the development of the wider finance team and providing guidance to the Tax Accountant
  • Ensuring tax risks are identified, managed and appropriately reported

About You

You will be a qualified finance or tax professional with strong technical knowledge and experience within financial services. You will be commercially minded, analytical and confident working with stakeholders across an international organisation.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CTA or ATT
  • Strong UK Corporation Tax experience, including complex computations and capital allowances
  • Experience working within financial services, ideally within an international organisation
  • Knowledge of VAT, or a strong interest in developing your VAT expertise
  • Strong UK tax compliance experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with automation tools

What's on Offer?

  • £60,000-£70,000 salary
  • Up to 10% company bonus
  • 25 days' holiday, increasing to 30 days with service, plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced pension contribution
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits
  • Private healthcare and dental cover

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified tax professional with financial services experience to take ownership of a broad UK tax remit within an established international organisation, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the wider group.
