Project Manager - Water Infrastructure

Your new company

You will be joining an established civil engineering contractor delivering a significant water infrastructure project in the North East. The business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a package of civils works based between the Durham office and a live project in Blyth.

Your new role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, splitting your time approximately 50/50 between the Durham office and the site in Blyth.The project involves the installation of a 1,200m storage tank and associated pipe nest, with significant reinforced concrete, shaft sinking, sheet piling and excavation works.Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the project through to successful delivery
• Overseeing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
• Managing reinforced concrete works and concrete pours
• Overseeing shaft sinking, sheet piling and associated temporary works
• Coordinating the installation of the 1,200m storage tank and pipework
• Monitoring programme, cost, quality and health & safety
• Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers and other project stakeholders
• Managing project documentation, reporting, progress meetings and delivery programmes

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and water infrastructure.You will ideally have:

• Proven Project Management experience on heavy civils or water projects
• Strong reinforced concrete and concrete pour experience
• Experience of shaft sinking and sheet piling
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work packages
• Good understanding of temporary works, excavation and underground infrastructure
• Strong commercial, programme and health & safety awareness
• The ability to work 50% from the Durham office and 50% on site in Blyth
