Location: Near Keighley
Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (Office-Based)
Salary: £27,000 - £28000 dependent on experience

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing family-run business based near Keighley.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join a friendly and close-knit team in a varied role, supporting both the purchase ledger function and wider finance activities. The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger and supplier accounts whilst also providing support across credit control, credit administration and general finance duties.

This is a hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy and is keen to be part of a small, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and matching supplier invoices.
  • Managing supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account queries.
  • Assisting with supplier payment runs.
  • Supporting credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and chasing overdue payments.
  • Carrying out credit checks for new and existing customers.
  • Assisting with customer account administration.
  • Maintaining accurate financial information on Xero.
  • Producing and updating Excel spreadsheets and reports.
  • Supporting month-end processes and general finance administration.
  • Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team as required.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role.
  • Strong purchase ledger and supplier account management experience.
  • Exposure to credit control and credit administration activities.
  • Experience using Xero, or similar accounting software.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a small team environment.
