HR Advisor / HR Generalist

Northeast Suffolk Area

Are you a proactive HR professional looking for a varied generalist role where you can truly make an impact?

We're seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their people team. This is an excellent opportunity for a HR professional who enjoys a broad role covering employee relations, recruitment, data analysis, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Employee Relations & HR Advisory

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations cases including:
    • Attendance and absence management
    • Performance management
    • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
    • Flexible working requests
    • Workplace wellbeing matters
  • Support managers through investigations, formal meetings and hearings.
  • Advise on occupational health matters and return-to-work processes.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activity, from vacancy approval through to offer stage.
  • Prepare contracts, employment documentation and new starter paperwork.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and support the delivery of induction programmes.
  • Ensure all pre-employment and compliance checks are completed accurately.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems and personnel files.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR and internal policies.
  • Monitor holiday, absence and employee data records.
  • Produce HR documentation and correspondence as required.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Compile and analyse HR metrics, identifying trends and recommending solutions.
  • Support management with regular people data reporting.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of management training where required.

General HR Support

  • Coordinate employee wellbeing initiatives and recognition activities.
  • Manage various people-related administrative processes.
  • Support the wider HR team with day-to-day operational activities.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and engaging workplace culture.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and resilient HR professional who can confidently build relationships at all levels of the business.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards).
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing a range of employee relations cases independently.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present HR data.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering management coaching or training.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, logistics, production or industrial environments.
