• Location: Cheam, Surrey
• Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours- 100% office based
• Initially temporary contract whilst recruiting permanently
• Salary: £15.38- £18.46 per hour PAYE or £19.52- £23.51 per hour via an umbrella company.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing and supportive accountancy practice in Cheam, Surrey. This role is perfect for someone who is currently studying towards a professional qualification and is eager to further develop their technical accounting skills within a collaborative environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support the completion of corporation tax computations and returns.
• Maintain accurate client records and working papers.
• Utilise CCH and other accounting software efficiently.
• Liaise with clients regarding routine queries and information requests.
• Support Senior Accountants and Client Managers with ad hoc assignments.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Studies underway towards ACCA, ACA, AAT, or an equivalent qualification.
• Approximately 2-4 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and VAT returns.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Professional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• A desire to learn, develop, and progress your career within practice accounting.
