Employment Litigation Solicitor
Paying up to 45k
Based in Manchester City Centre
5 days onsite
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor with employment litigation experience to join a busy and well-established legal team in Manchester.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their own caseload, working directly with clients and getting involved in the full life cycle of Employment Tribunal matters. You'll be joining a supportive, fast-paced environment where quality of advice and client service are just as important as legal knowledge.
The role
You'll manage a varied caseload of employment disputes, advising clients from the initial receipt of a Tribunal claim through to settlement or hearing. This will include:
- Reviewing and responding to Employment Tribunal claims and preparing appropriate pleadings and applications.
- Advising clients on the merits, risks and likely outcomes of their cases.
- Managing disclosure, preparing hearing bundles and dealing with Tribunal correspondence.
- Handling settlement and conciliation negotiations in line with client instructions.
- Identifying and working with witnesses, including preparing and finalising witness statements.
- Conducting preliminary advocacy at Employment Tribunal hearings, including remotely and occasionally in person.
- Building strong relationships with clients and providing clear, commercially focused advice throughout.
- Working closely with colleagues and supporting more junior members of the team where required.
About you
We're looking for a qualified solicitor with recent employment litigation experience who is confident managing cases and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
- Experienced in Employment Tribunal litigation and dispute resolution.
- Confident drafting legal documents and providing clear, practical advice.
- Comfortable taking responsibility for your own caseload.
- A strong communicator who can build credibility and trust with clients.
- Commercially minded, with a genuine focus on achieving the best outcome for the client.
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team but is equally comfortable taking ownership and making decisions.
