Job Description

Catering Regional Operations Supervisor

£17.75 per hour

36.5 hours per week

Temporary until September (with potential extension)

Location: Mid Ulster

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Regional Operations Supervisor to join a leading organisation delivering bespoke catering services across Mid Ulster.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of School Meals Kitchens and Dining Centres across a designated region. An Enhanced Access NI check will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) in the management of School Meals Kitchens and catering teams.
  • Provide operational cover for kitchens during staff absences, including ordering supplies, cash handling and financial returns.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, training and development of catering staff.
  • Deliver food safety, health & safety and operational training across kitchen teams.
  • Respond to staffing emergencies and help ensure service continuity.
  • Support service improvement initiatives, policy implementation and quality standards.
  • Monitor food service standards, nutritional guidelines and menu compliance.
  • Promote innovation, best practice and continuous improvement across the service.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • HND (or equivalent/higher) in a Catering-related subject and 2 years' supervisory experience in the catering industry; OR
  • Level 4 Management Qualification, HNC, BTEC National Diploma, Institute of Hospitality qualification (or equivalent) and 3 years' supervisory experience; OR
  • 4 years' supervisory experience within the catering industry.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and COSHH legislation.
  • Access to suitable transport to meet the mobility requirements of the role.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The flexibility to respond to operational needs, including occasional work outside normal hours.
