Are you an experienced laboratory professional looking for your next opportunity, or a science graduate with hands-on industry experience? We're recruiting an Analytical Development Chemist to join a successful manufacturing business in Liverpool, supporting quality assurance, product testing, and continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: 20.60 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical and quality control methods.
- Ensure products consistently meet quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.
- Assist with quality investigations and the resolution of customer queries.
- Manage laboratory consumables, chemicals, and retained samples.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH, Health & Safety, and food safety standards.
- Contribute to laboratory improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment carrying out analytical testing.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage competing priorities within a busy manufacturing setting.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Passionate about quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or another regulated industry.
- Knowledge of analytical instrumentation, calibration, and validation processes.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
