Finance Manager

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team in High Wycombe. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting timely management information delivery, and maintaining a strong financial control environment.
- Support the monthly financial close process, including preparing accurate management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Ensure financial information is produced accurately and within agreed reporting deadlines, providing meaningful analysis to assist in understanding business performance.
- Maintain strong financial controls, oversee the integrity of the general ledger, complete reconciliations on time, and investigate variances or anomalies.
- Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and provide information required by external auditors.
- Monitor working capital by reviewing debtor, creditor, and inventory balances, support cash flow forecasting, and ensure compliance with VAT and other statutory reporting obligations.
- Work closely with operational departments to ensure accurate reflection of stock movements, manufacturing costs, and inventory valuations in the financial records.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts, providing financial analysis and commentary to support decision making.
- Drive continuous improvement within the finance function by streamlining processes, improving reporting, and maximising the use of the company's ERP system.
- Participate in finance-related projects, system enhancements, and the implementation of best practice financial processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent analytical skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, or distribution environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective relationships across all departments.
- Working towards or holding ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications, or qualified by experience. (NOT FULLY QUALIFIED)
- Proficiency in preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
