Payroll Manager
Hayes / Uxbridge £55,000 £60,000 + Excellent Benefits4 days office-based Friday working from home
Take ownership. Make payroll your own. Are you an experienced
Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Specialist looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of the payroll function?
We're looking for a confident, hands-on payroll professional to join an established international business based in
Hayes / Uxbridge, managing the complete end-to-end payroll process across two UK entities.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being
close to the detail, is confident working with payroll systems and wants to be the go-to person for payroll across the business.
What you'll be doing You'll take ownership of the full monthly payroll cycle, ensuring everything is processed accurately, efficiently and on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end monthly payroll for two UK entities
- Personally processing, checking and validating payroll within the payroll system
- Managing starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, benefits and statutory payments
- Processing pensions and managing pension submissions and reconciliations
- Preparing P45s, P60s and P11Ds
- Acting as the key point of contact for payroll queries and resolving issues promptly
- Producing payroll reports and journals and supporting month-end reconciliations
- Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and external payroll partners
- Supporting payroll audits and maintaining strong payroll controls
- Working closely with HR and Finance on payroll-related matters
- Reviewing and improving payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
What we're looking for We're looking for someone who is
genuinely experienced in processing payroll, rather than someone whose experience has been limited to providing payroll data or working predominantly in Excel.
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years' experience independently managing end-to-end UK payroll
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments
- Hands-on experience using a payroll system / HRIS
- Experience managing payroll with minimal supervision
- Workday experience is highly desirable, although exceptional payroll experience using another system will be considered
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing with employees, HR, Finance, HMRC and external providers
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving payroll issues
A key point about the role
This is a hands-on payroll position. We're looking for someone who has actually
processed payroll through a payroll system running calculations, checking outputs, making adjustments, resolving discrepancies and completing the payroll cycle.
If you're someone who can take ownership of payroll from
start to finish, we'd love to hear from you.
