Job Description

I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Assistant Accountant to support a well-established distribution business based in Garretts Green. This is a long-term interim opportunity, offering hybrid working and a steady, hands-on role within a supportive finance team.

The role:

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Interim Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day finance operations and assist with month-end reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with month-end close, including journals and accruals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting management accounts preparation
  • Bank reconciliations and cash postings
  • Assisting with VAT and statutory reporting where required
  • Supporting Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger as needed
  • Ad-hoc finance analysis and reporting
The ideal candidate:
  • Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar interim finance role
  • Confident with journals, reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution or operational environment
  • Available for a long-term interim assignment
