ROLE- Spec Technologist with a Market Leading Food Manufacturer!
BASED NORTH LANARKSHIRE
Reporting into the Technical Manager, main duties will include:
- Ensure all required internal and external documentation is completed to specification and on time and to the highest standard.
- To become familiar with current factory processes to ensure specifications reflect the most up to date site processes and procedures.
- Work closely with the NPD department, ensuring all relevant paperwork is document controlled and ready for product launches e.g. QAS, batch weigh sheets, barcode labels, shelf-life, factory paperwork, traceability records etc.
- Check artwork and packaging against agreed pack copy, legal/company requirements and ingredient specifications ensuring any non-compliance is reported and followed up and closed out.
- HACCP training essential to review compliance with the agreed standards of the customer.
- To support where possible, effective factory trials as necessary for customer and internal requirements ensuring that all documentation is fully completed, actions followed up as necessary and any issues are communicated fully.
- Create implement and maintain departmental database systems: nutritional, allergens and similar models.
- Maintain up-to-date raw material and packaging specifications and relevant accreditation paperwork and supplier approval documentation.
- Completion of internal audits against BRC and retailer standards.
- Assist QA by verifying packaging and labels during intake checks.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops focused on current and upcoming legislation, codes of practice, and new systems or equipment used by the technical department.
- Reply to customers and internal queries.
CANDIDATE
You will possess excellent IT skills coupled with a BSc Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline, preferably Food OR experience in a similar role. You will be confident and articulate, able to communicate well with members of staff at all levels.
