We are seeking a Sample Reception Technician to join a busy laboratory operation supporting the receipt, logging, and preparation of samples for testing. This role is critical to ensuring samples are accurately tracked, stored, and distributed to laboratory teams in a timely and compliant manner. The position offers a temp-to-perm pathway with strong long-term prospects.

• Receiving, checking, and booking in samples delivered to the laboratory
• Accurately labelling, logging, and registering samples onto internal systems
• Ensuring samples are handled, stored, and prepared in line with procedures
• Liaising with laboratory teams to prioritise and distribute samples for testing
• Identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damaged samples, or incomplete information
• Maintaining accurate records and traceability of all received samples
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and quality standards
• Keeping the sample reception area clean, organised, and efficient

• Previous experience in sample reception, laboratory support, logistics, or a similar role (desirable but not essential)
• High attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
• Basic IT skills and confidence using computer systems
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and a Tuesday-Saturday rota
