Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at our family-run hotel. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in high-volume kitchens, ideally within a hotel or similar environment. This role is crucial for supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and contributing to menu development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Help manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Participate in the creation and adjustment of menu items to enhance dining experience while managing cost.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
- Handle any issues that arise in the kitchen and act as the Head Chef's second-in-command.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of managing and motivating kitchen staff.
- Excellent cooking skills with the ability to execute high-quality dishes.
- Familiarity with inventory management and recipe costing.
- Professional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
