We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a busy production team. This role involves setting, operating, and programming CNC lathes (Fanuc controls), ensuring parts are produced to high quality standards and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls
- Read and understand CNC programmes, making edits where required
- Set up new jobs using setup sheets and tooling lists
- Preset tooling and load programmes correctly
- Create or edit programmes (on-machine or offline using CAM software)
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet drawings and customer specifications
- Complete all required production paperwork accurately
- Ensure correct drawings, programmes, and quantities are used
- Report any quality issues and follow non-conformance procedures
- Work closely with the team to maintain production flow and output
- Run multiple machines where possible to maximise efficiency
- Keep work area clean and organised
- Support shift handovers with clear updates
- Use the MRP system to track work in progress
- Flag any issues with tooling, machines, or job timings to supervisors
Experience Required
- Experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience setting tools and working from setup sheets
- Familiar with measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers)
- Background in precision engineering or manufacturing
- Experience working in a team-based production environment
Desirable
- Apprenticeship or formal training in machining or engineering
- Experience using CAM software (e.g. Edgecam)
- Exposure to MRP systems
Working Hours & Pay
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm
- Pay: 18.50 to 20.00 per hour DOE
