Senior Support Worker - Children's LD Residential Home (3 Beds, Birmingham)

Salary: £28,000 + Sleep and Overtime

Contract: Full-time, permanent

We are seeking a committed Senior Support Worker to join our 3-bed Children's Learning Disabilities (LD) home in Birmingham. You will play a key role in supporting the team, leading shifts, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home.

  • Provide guidance, supervision, and role-modelling to support workers.

  • Deliver personalised care to children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

  • Support communication, independence, and daily routines.

  • Ensure safeguarding, care plans, and behaviour support strategies are followed.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.

Requirements

  • Experience in children's residential care, ideally within LD or autism settings.

  • Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities and communication needs.

  • Confident, calm, and supportive leadership style.

  • Ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
