Salary: £28,000 + Sleep and Overtime
Contract: Full-time, permanent
We are seeking a committed Senior Support Worker to join our 3-bed Children's Learning Disabilities (LD) home in Birmingham. You will play a key role in supporting the team, leading shifts, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home.
Provide guidance, supervision, and role-modelling to support workers.
Deliver personalised care to children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
Support communication, independence, and daily routines.
Ensure safeguarding, care plans, and behaviour support strategies are followed.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Requirements
Experience in children's residential care, ideally within LD or autism settings.
Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of learning disabilities and communication needs.
Confident, calm, and supportive leadership style.
Ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
