Are you passionate about climate action and committed to achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2030?
We're looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced Climate & Environment adviser to join our team in the Midlands and East of England to help us lead the way in sustainability and environmental improvements.
What it's like to work here
You'll be part of our Specialist Delivery Team, working in partnership with our places and people across the Midlands and East of England region.
The National Trust's Specialist Delivery Team is the home to specialists in every field of our work. We work as a team and in partnership with operational, estates and commercial teams to deliver our ambitious People and Place Strategy.
As this role covers the Midlands and East or England region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home.
Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We'll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing
As an integral part of the Specialist Delivery Team, you'll play a crucial role in embedding climate and environmental standards across the Midlands and East of England. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on managing carbon; climate change risks, impacts and adaptation; water (including sewage systems); energy; waste; and natural resources.
Your proactive approach will enable our places to meet their carbon targets, adapt to climate change, and reduce risk of pollution, as part of the National Trust's Climate and Environmental Management System (CEMS).
As part of the Midlands and East of England Climate and Environment Team you will be responsible to leading our Climate RACE of Reduce, Adapt, Capture and Engage. You'll provide expert strategic advice on sustainability, for our operations and projects. You'll support our places in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards, and lead training programmes to elevate the skills and knowledge of the teams. You'll champion innovative best practices in climate action and drive continual improvement.
Who we're looking for
The package
The National Trust has the motto 'For everyone, for ever' at its heart. We're working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It's important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we're for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
