Job Description

Job Title: Part-Time CaretakerLocation: Dartford

Salary: Pro-rata salary of £13,923.15 per annum

Working Hours:21 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:00pmWorking days to be agreed (ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Part-Time Caretaker join a friendly developemnt in Dartford. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining both the buildings and surrounding grounds to a high standard.

This is a varied role suited to an all-rounder who is comfortable carrying out a wide range of general tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general day-to-day repairs and maintenance across the development
  • Address issues relating to doors, locks, paving, and general wear and tear
  • Collect and dispose of bulky items from around the development
  • Operate the onsite buggy for transport across the site (driving is essential)
  • Undertake painting and decorating tasks as required
  • Carry out basic repairs within communal areas and parks
  • Clean and maintain bin rooms and surrounding areas
  • Install signage where necessary
  • Identify and report maintenance issues proactively
  • Conduct testing of systems such as AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) and EML (Emergency Lighting) where required
  • Support a wide range of ad hoc maintenance tasks as they arise

Candidate Requirements
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues independently
  • Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training (e.g. fire doors, carpentry)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential for operating onsite buggy)
  • Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred
  • Trade qualifications (e.g. carpentry, general building) desirable but not essential

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and adopts a "see it, fix it" attitude. The ideal candidate will not wait for issues to be reported but will actively monitor the development and address problems as they arise.
