Projects Engineer (Hydraulic)

We are seeking an experienced Projects Engineer specialising in Hydraulics to lead the delivery of bespoke hydraulic systems from design through to installation and commissioning. This role involves coordinating engineering, manufacturing, testing, and on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer specifications. The position offers a hands-on experience involving in-house build and testing, fault finding, calibration, and international travel for customer installations and support.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead project implementation both in-house and on customer sites (UK & overseas).
• Coordinate design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Perform testing, calibration, fault finding, and issue certification.
• Act as the technical lead and main customer contact during projects.
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and site documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, Machinery Directive, and Health & Safety standards.
• Provide customer training and ongoing technical support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years' experience working with hydraulic systems (low volume, high value).
• HND or Degree in Engineering (hydraulics qualification desirable).
• Strong all-round engineering knowledge including hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and willing to travel internationally.
