Depot Manager (near Poole & Bournemouth)

Your new companyA successful, fast-growing, privately owned company that is setting up a new Distribution Centre in Dorset (near Wallisdown), which will hold stock and deliver to their customers in the Southern Region. Your new roleReporting into the business owner, you will establish a Distribution Centre, initially with 5-6 staff in the Warehouse, 8 drivers (CPC NOT essential), and 2 customer service staff, and likely to expand from there. The site is already secured, so the successful candidate will work with the owner to take best practices and proven processes from their main DC at Head Office, and then work through the start-up phase to get the Poole site up and running, then continue to refine processes while leading and ensuring the highest levels of customer service. What you'll need to succeedYou will have previous experience in a similar role, running a small or medium-sized Distribution Centre, or in a Shift Leadership position within a larger site, but ready to take on a more autonomous role. You will be familiar with best practices in the Warehouse, including unloading containers, stock control, Health & Safety, picking and despatch. Ideally you will also have experience managing drivers and fleet (no CPC required but familiarity with maintaining service schedules etc is useful). All planning is done at Head Office, so this role is about ensuring the successful delivery of the plan).
