Platform Engineer (eDV Cleared):

Contract Details:

• Start: ASAP to 30 September 2026 - to be extended
• Full-time, onsite
• Location: UK South
• Rate: opened to conversation
• SFIA level 4-6
• Clearance: eDV active - Mandatory

Responsibilities:

• Build, operate and maintain Kubernetes platforms with a focus on OpenShift
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based platform services
• Manage container orchestration, scheduling and cluster lifecycle
• Configure and support networking including DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress and network security
• Automate platform operations using infrastructure-as-code
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, including root cause analysis
• Support upgrades, patching and capacity planning
• Contribute to platform standards, documentation and best practice

Skills and Experience:

• Strong hands-on Linux administration in production environments
• Proven Kubernetes operations and troubleshooting experience
• OpenShift expertise including operators, RBAC, routes and image streams
• Solid networking knowledge across TCP/IP, DNS, routing and security
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or CRI-O
• Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana and ELK
• Strong problem-solving ability in complex, distributed systems
