The business operates across both consultancy and construction delivery environments, working with public and private sector clients nationwide. Role Overview

This is a senior technical and project delivery role focused on drainage, SuDS, and civil infrastructure design across buildings, highways, and public realm schemes. You will take responsibility for leading work packages from concept through detailed design and into construction support, providing technical leadership and ensuring solutions are safe, sustainable, and buildable.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of drainage, SuDS, and below-ground infrastructure solutions
  • Manage technical work packages, including programming, cost control, proposals, and delivery
  • Provide technical assurance of designs, calculations, drawings, and reports
  • Deliver standalone consultancy commissions, working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Support construction teams by influencing buildability, sequencing, and delivery outcomes
  • Embed Health & Safety, Environmental and CDM Designer responsibilities throughout projects
  • Develop safe, sustainable, and compliant engineering solutions
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development
  • Advance digital engineering workflows using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoWorks, and BIM platforms

About You

You will bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered status (ICE) or active progress towards chartership
  • Strong experience in drainage and SuDS design, including attenuation, flow control, and hydraulic modelling
  • Broader civil infrastructure experience (site-wide drainage, public realm, earthworks interfaces, highways or buildings-related works)
  • Experience preparing SuDS strategies and supporting planning submissions
  • Knowledge of drainage approvals and agreements (e.g. S104, S38, S106, water authority processes)
  • Proficiency in MicroDrainage, InfoWorks, Civil 3D, and BIM environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders
  • A full UK driving licence

  • Salary up to £53,000 per annum
  • Company car provided (or car allowance option)
  • Fuel card for business travel
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Ongoing professional development and chartership support
