Accounts & Tax Manager

We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting and tax services, and building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients across accounts and tax
• Reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns
• Leading client meetings and acting as a trusted advisor
• Overseeing workflow, delegating to junior staff and reviewing their work
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
• Supporting clients with year-end processes (including P11Ds and related filings)
• Driving efficiency and maintaining high service standards
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the team

We are looking for someone with strong practice experience who can confidently manage both clients and workload.

You will ideally have:

• ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
• Previous experience managing a portfolio within an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts and tax compliance
• Experience using software such as Xero and/or Sage
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively

Audit experience is beneficial but not essential.

• Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
