We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values. Are you ready to be at the beating heart of one of London's most vibrant and diverse local economies? As our Licensing & Digital Media Officer you won't just manage administrative processes-you will actively shape, support, and celebrate the incredible traders and market sites that define our borough's unique character. Operating within the Markets, Shop Fronts & Street Trading Service under the Climate, Homes & Economy directorate, this dynamic dual role bridges essential regulatory leadership with creative digital storytelling in a full-time position based at Ridley Road Office and market sites across Hackney. On the Licensing & Business Support side (comprising roughly 60% of the role), you will act as the trusted foundation ensuring our market operations run seamlessly. Your core duties include delivering statutory licensing and registration functions under the London Local Authorities Act, issuing and renewing street trading licences within agreed service timescales, and maintaining auditable digital database records. You will guide prospective and existing local entrepreneurs through the licensing journey, reconcile licence payments, recover arrears alongside finance colleagues, and prepare documentation for the Officer Licensing Panel while supporting compliance and enforcement teams. Additionally, you will compile management statistics on occupancy and income, provide core administrative support across the service, and work flexibly on-site during trading hours, including required weekends and public holidays. On the Digital Media & Communications side (making up approximately 40% of your responsibilities), you will unleash your creative flair to amplify the voices and stories of Hackney's bustling market communities. Working in collaboration with the Strategy, Policy & Digital Development Manager, you will plan, film, edit, and publish engaging content across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to drive data-informed campaigns that boost footfall and trader applications. You will manage daily digital community interactions, highlight independent business vendors, mentor local traders to build their online marketing confidence, produce monthly performance analytics, and deliver priority campaigns around climate action and local economic recovery-all while ensuring strict adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and Hackney's corporate brand guidelines. Key Responsibilities To succeed, candidates should possess administrative or licensing experience in complex public-facing settings with high accuracy in handling records and financial reconciliations, along with proven skills in digital media creation (using tools like Canva and Meta Business Suite) and strong communication skills to engage diverse local traders. You must demonstrate excellent organisational skills to balance compliance tasks with creative marketing, proficiency in Google Workspace and database tools, a commitment to equality and inclusion, and the flexibility to work weekend shifts on-site. Protein Works
IT Systems Technician
Protein Works Liverpool, Merseyside
Keep a seven-day manufacturing and fulfilment operation running, and help build the IT that does it. The Role Join Protein Works as our IT Technician and be the hands-on support that keeps our factory, warehouse and fulfilment operation moving, seven days a week, from our Liverpool campus. Our IT function sits behind everything we do, from the production line to the parcel leaving the building. We're turning it into a genuinely self-servicing team: clear reactive, maintenance and project workstreams, properly prioritised in Jira, with nobody sat waiting for work to be handed out. You won't just work inside that set-up, you'll help build it. When a system hiccups here, you'll see it on the warehouse floor within minutes, and when you fix it, you'll see that too. You'll be the person who traces a labelling fault back to a broken integration, plans the release that sorts it and makes sure it never bites twice. Behind that, there's a development roadmap to 2028 that you'll help drive, including a brand new in-house middleware build. You'll be part of a small team that does it all, from service desk to systems, projects to on-call. If you're a 1st or 2nd line support engineer who likes owning the fix, hates seeing the same problem twice and wants your work to actually keep a business running, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Own incoming tickets and prioritise them by real impact: know when a back end issue will hit labelling or goods in, and who on the floor needs a heads up. Support and troubleshoot the integrations that connect our systems, from APIs and middleware to the links between our warehouse management system, Sage and other platforms, and help support the build of our new in-house middleware. Plan every change carefully, from a client patch to a system release: understand what it could break, pick the right window and always have a rollback ready. Keep servers, networks, workstations and peripherals healthy with planned maintenance and backups, and contribute to system rollouts and infrastructure upgrades. Shape our Jira workflow so the team can triage and prioritise its own work, and take your turn on a rotating on-call rota with clear, tiered escalation. Lead incident reviews when things go wrong, covering the timeline, detection and response times, root cause and lessons learned, and keep everything documented in Confluence. Ideal Candidate Solid hands-on experience across networking (routing, DNS, VPNs), Windows Server, desktop operating systems and common business applications. Confidence working with system integrations: you can read and troubleshoot APIs, API keys and middleware connections, ideally between ERP, WMS or finance platforms. Experience supporting a manufacturing, warehouse or fulfilment environment, with a feel for how a systems issue ripples out into the operation. A careful approach to change: you plan releases and patches around the business, weigh up the risks and know how to roll back if it goes wrong. You document properly, from knowledge articles to incident reviews with root cause analysis. Jira, Confluence and some scripting (PowerShell, Python) help; CompTIA A+, CCNA or Microsoft certifications are a bonus. A calm, clear communicator who owns problems through to the fix, explains tech to non-technical colleagues and is comfortable being part of an on-call rota. Benefits Exclusive staff discounts Private healthcare Birthday day off Pension scheme Unique bonus scheme Cycle to work scheme Access to PW product discounts Staff socials and events State of the art PW Campus Refreshments on-site About Protein Works Protein Works is a multi-award-winning go-to lifestyle nutrition brand for health-conscious, mainstream consumers.
