MS300 - HGV / Plant Technician Location: Colnbrook, SloughSalary: £27,040 - £32,240 per annum circa + vanOverview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an HGV / Plant Technician on behalf of one of our clients.As the successful candidate, you will provide efficient and effective day to day repair, maintenance, servicing and road worthiness of the companies' HGV's, light vans, plant and equipment based at Colnbrook and all satellite depots.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day to day repair and maintenance of HGV's & light vans.
  • Repair and maintenance of specialist road marking machines.
  • Provide breakdown cover.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance.
  • Carry out some minor fabrication tasks.
  • Be On-call for 1 week in 4.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health & safety, environment and employment law.
  • Carry out and duties such as ad-hoc projects as requested by the Fleet, Logistics & IT Manager, or the Workshop Manager that are within the skills and knowledge of the job holder.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Skilled in the profession with a minimum of 2+ years' previous experience in vehicle mechanics and or plant fitting.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and organized.
  • Keen to support others and are cooperative team members.
  • Able to maintain quality under pressure.
  • Computer and IT literate with an understanding of Word and Excel.
  • Willing to undertake any additional training as deemed necessary as and when required.
  • A problem solver.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Prepared to work overtime and work on the on-call rota.
  • Forklift experience (desirable).
  • MOT Prep (desirable).
  • Welding (desirable).
  • LGV licence (desirable).
  • Some experience with pneumatics / hydraulics (desirable).
