Job Description

The DE&S Quality Management Specialist supports in a range of quality management activities in a delivery portfolio to enable the business to meet its strategic objectives. Activities will include supporting the governance of centrally held portfolio documents as well as assurance activities including audit and improvement projects.

Through this function you will participate in an extensive training programme with a long-term goal to gain a MoD Quality Management License followed by Chartered professional status through the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI). You will then become a recognised Government Assurance and Improvement (GAI) subject matter expert.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support the Governance Assurance and Improvement (GAI) approach and ensure its effectiveness, providing advice and guidance.

• Maintain the business processes working with the document authors.

• Support to ensure appropriate management reviews are held and any appropriate information is available (representing QM if required).

• Undertaking risk based internal Assurance Quality Management Audits and completing reports.

• Support with stakeholder and customer engagement by arranging meetings and events.

• Support and understands the capture of non-conformances and root causes.

• Support the maintenance or implementation of the Business Management System including the Configuration Management of control aspects.

• Support or manage in the Implementation or maintenance of ISO 9001 certification.

• Collate and present data to Senior Management to enable informed decisions.

• Support to improve the awareness of quality.

• Support in the delivery of Improvement projects, taking ownership where appropriate.

• Openly shares knowledge within team, and seeks opportunities within other teams

Person specification

To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

• Experience in Interpreting Data and Analysis skills

• Experience in Identification and implementation of improvement initiatives

• Experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

• An understanding Quality Management or Quality Assurance to ISO 9001.
