Enterprise Infrastructure Architect

Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is required by a prestigious financial services organisation based in the heart of the City of London/hybrid working. Within this role you will help ensure that the overall infrastructure and cloud architecture is maintained while also being a key contributor to the strategic agenda for these domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape initial thinking on project solutions, factoring in internal drivers (architecture principles and technology strategy) and external market/regulatory forces
- Influence and manage stakeholders (up to Board level), ensuring the enterprise architecture informs the strategic investment plan and that all solutions delivered through the change portfolio realise the strategic intent
- Provide architectural oversight and design authority on solution delivery, working with key project, technology, and business stakeholders. Ensuring system and information security remains central to all designs
- Review designs created by projects and local technology teams to ensure they meet the expected quality and completeness standards needed to support implementation activities, governance and compliance
- Provide technology agnostic subject matter expertise around infrastructure and cloud capabilities and their alignment with required technical processes
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external parties
- Act as the go-to person for project resources, analysts, and product owners for design and roadmap queries
- Collaborate across the organisation in the creation of, then help manage and maintain, capability focussed architectural roadmaps across the infrastructure and cloud domains
- Own the suitability of the activities and artefacts to ensure the approach is not under/over engineered, and quality assurance of project architectural deliverables
- Provide technical authority and governance across key strategic portfolios
- Present at C-Level and to Segment Leads to win over key stakeholders in respect of solutions/change required
- Maintain key architectural assets and processes
- Provide a consultancy role to IT and business teams where appropriate, and look to upskill others within the organisation around architectural practices and behaviours
Key Experience & Skills
- 5+ years working in IT Architecture (preferably in a regulated environment)
- TOGAF qualified
- Experience delivering architecture services to teams operating in both agile and waterfall working patterns
- Excellent technical expertise spanning across infrastructure and cloud domains
- Experience in areas such as the following highly beneficial: MS Azure, MS Cloud Adoption Framework and hybrid cloud formation, Office 365, SD WAN, CASB, DevOps and infrastructure as code deployments and automations, Cyber resilience technologies, Active Directory, Hyperconverged technologies (Virtualisation, storage and networking)
- Experience of applying modern architecture: SaaS, PaaS, API's, micro services
- Experience in operational delivery of IT products in an international environment
- Understanding of solution trade-offs such as cost, scope, timescales, and balance between strategic and short-term pragmatic considerations
- Strong planning and organizing skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
