Senior Design Engineer

A forward-thinking and successful business is looking for a creative, self-motivated and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the team in Whitchurch. Along with a salary of up to £48,000 per annum, you will also receive a company pension, a profit related bonus, monthly time and attendance lottery, free onsite parking and an early finish on a Friday.The ideal candidate will be carrying out the entire design and development process for new product development projects, with an aim to progress from concept to final volume production.As the Senior Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Working with production departments to ensure that all designs are suitable and to supply all information necessary to deliver the final project
• Creating and maintaining initial product BOMs and agreeing and delivering detail designs to schedule
• Regular reporting of the project status, highlighting all risks to the project and ensuring that projects are delivered on time
• Creating and maintaining all necessary drawings and other documentation related to the project(s).
• Creating proven engineering designs
• Carrying out DFMA on a routine basis
• Validating by prototyping and testing
• Creating regular status reports

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who has the following skills and experiences:

• A minimum of HNC/HND level engineering qualification
• Experience in 3D CAD is mandatory requirement.
• Demonstrable aptitude to IT
• Ability to work on own initiative, to be self-motivated to achieve.
• Understanding of statutory procedures.
• Working with computerised 3D drawing package of which Solidworks will be preferred.
• Understanding of Engineering and general principles of Engineering is essential.
