Job Description

To manage elements of companies new product development (NPD) process through the PMO

and R&D departments to ensure a product design specification is completed and agreed,

projects are adequately resourced and that PMO / R&D task deadlines are met in line with

the agreed project plans.

A renowned manufacturer in high end electronic goods.

Description

Ensure an extensive feasibility study is conducted on each new project to establish

whether the R&D department can meet the product quality, timing and cost targets

from Phase 0 through.

Present Feasibility findings to Senior PM, COMEX and Phase Review team.

Work with R&D team to compile an agreed, achievable Product Design specification.

Third Party Management - oversee the involvement of any third-party design partners,

ensuring they meet our quality, cost and timing goals. May require overseas travel.

Agree R&D timings for the project plan with the Senior PM and relevant R&D

Department Heads

Work with the Senior PM to formulate an agreed project plan for R&D tasks.

Ensure project plan task timings, quality and cost objectives are met by the R&D

stakeholders and third parties.

Ensure all R&D aspects of each project are kept in check i.e., the Design

Specification, BOM, Quality, etc.

Work with all project stakeholders in particular Manufacturing Engineering,

Manufacturing and QA to ensure our Design for Manufacture criteria are met.

Profile

Project Management background including knowledge of Microsoft Project.

Strong Technical base.

Several years proven 3rd party management skills in engineering application

Degree qualified in engineering subject (ideally electronics).

Knowledge of issue management/tracking and reporting.

Project management of internal and external resources

Degree qualified in engineering

Budget experience

Resource allocation

Hitting quality targets for products

Job Offer
