Job Description

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an award-winning, independent, planning and environmental consultancy in the northwest with the hire of a Planning Consultant to their office in East Cheshire (Wilmslow). The role can also be based out of Chester. This is a permanent position.

This company has two offices in the North West and has been established for over 20 years. They are now widely considered a key player in the infrastructure and energy sectors and employ specialists that work in a number of connected fields such as development planning, environmental impact assessment, landscape & urban design and transportation.

Services

Working in a well-balanced team, you will help provide the following services to your clients;

-Planning applications and supporting information;

-Advice on a range of consenting regimes e.g. Development Consent Orders for NSIPs, Marine Consents and the Electricity Act;

-Advice on the need for Environmental Impact Assessments and specialist studies to support applications;

-Co-ordinating Environmental Impact Assessments;

-Preparing planning application drawings;

-Planning strategies and programmes including stakeholder engagement and consultation;

-Advice on planning policy, legislation and guidance;

-Review of development plans including making representations and appearing at Plan Inquiries;

-Expert witness services at Section 77 and 78 Inquiries/Appeals;

-Strategic site searches and identifying potential sites for development;

-Advice on special designations, such as Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Tree Preservation Orders, SSSIs, SPAs, SACs, AONBs & National Parks;

-Advice on permitted development rights under the GPDO; and

-Planning and research studies to inform governmental plans and strategies.

Requirements to Apply

Interested candidates should hold an appropriate qualification and experience commensurate to a Town Planner level - experience should ideally be from the infrastructure and energy sectors.
