About The RoleAs the second largest Building Society in the UK and the 8th largest lender, we know a thing or two about Savings and Mortgages. The Society has grown significantly over the past decade in particular and now has over 2700 employees and 1.8 million members. We are recruiting a Management Accountant - a new and exciting role within our Finance Transformation team. You will be joining a growing team at the Society and will have the opportunity to take a lead role in driving value at a critical time, both internally and externally. You'll be playing a key role in delivering the finance transformation objectives and making sure the benefits of our new Workday ERP/ GL are leveraged as we migrate our critical financial management processes. A key focus will be on ensuring the finance transformation objectives are delivered in relation to the successful migration and reconciliation of financial master data, transactional and plan data from the existing finance systems to the new ERP tooling, Workday. You will take responsibility for the following areas:- Updating mapping rules tool from legacy GL to new ERP tooling- Set up and maintain reconciliation methods and controls- Deliver reporting solutions and audit trails to demonstrate the status of reconciliation criteria - Extracting and converting high volumes of financial and non-financial data from the legacy finance systems and loading to the new ERP, Workday- Ensuring robust checks and controls are prevalent throughout the period of data conversion - Working with the programme team and finance to ensure deliverables are managed in line with the plan and any risks or issues are escalated in a timely mannerAnd - Ensuring compliance with the Group's accounting policy and data governance principles- Work closely with the programme team and other key stakeholders, including CIDO, Treasury and Audit- Liaison with Financial Planning, Business Partnering and other areas of the business as required in order to understand and improve accounting and reporting processes;- Proactively seek to improve financial management reporting and the enablement of improved insight to be derived from new ERP toolingYou will be used to preparing detailed financial analysis and communicating the results to stakeholders in a simple and straight forward way. You will have advanced excel skills and enjoy working with others to solve complex technical challenges.About YouThe successful individual will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) have relevant experience within Financial Operations / Accounting / Control or within accountancy practice.
