Rutherford Briant are currently recruiting a Personal Tax Manager for a great Accountancy Firm based in their lovely London office. They are a forward-thinking firm with extremely modern offices, offering the ability to work from home 3 days per week.

The position would suit a dynamic candidate who is looking for a new challenge and an exciting, varied role. The ideal candidate would be a Manager or an ambitious Assistant Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Tax Partner you will be dealing with taxation affairs of employees and self-employed, pensioners, high net worth individuals, Trusts, Company Directors, rental income accounts for both UK and non-UK resident landlords, Forms P11D and some IHT. To support the development personal and trust tax advisory work across the Firm ensuring delivery of an excellent service to new and existing clients, generating fee income and contributing to the development and broadening of the services provided by the Firm in this area.

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients including HNWI's, non-domiciled individuals, UK Trusts and company directors.
  • Provide specialist ad hoc personal tax planning advice to compliance clients;
  • Advise on IHT planning and trust set up;
  • Promote the services of the Firm in relation to HMRC enquiries and investigations into the affairs of personal and trust clients across the Firm;
  • Liaise with clients and HM Revenue & Customs and attend meetings with both;
  • An understanding of wider corporate/transaction taxes would be desirable, but not essential;
  • Advise on UK property purchase structure for HNWI;
  • Advise on Tax Schemes entered into by personal tax clients and options for settlement etc.;
  • Advise on complex remittance issues for non- doms;
  • Develop and implement new procedures consistent with current policies or existing principles.
  • Manage and develop a small team of tax professionals within the London office.
  • Manage working capital on own portfolio including WIP recovery, billing and debt collection.
  • Maintain own levels of CPD, keeping abreast of relevant technical developments in compliance with guidelines and to meet the Firm's needs
  • Further develop and improve leadership and management skills
