- The role would suit either an existing Business Development Executive or an Account Handler looking to move into a more sales focused role.
About the Role:
- This role involves supporting the sales team to generate revenue, organise meetings, and win new business in line with the regional sales strategy.
- Achievement is measured through originating quality meetings and developing robust pipelines to help the sales team achieve financial targets.
Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
- Actively support the business unit to deliver required growth and achieve agreed business targets.
- Actively drive the sales process and activity in relation to winning and developing profitable clients.
- Creation of new and subsequent prospect meetings for yourself and others.
- Ensure robust account planning is in place for all prospects and that key actions are completed on time.
- Devise and execute strategies to develop and grow a network of relationships among prospects.
- Develop strategies and tactics to help position as a "thought leader" within our clients and prospects.
- Actively identify and work with colleagues to capitalise on account penetration and cross selling opportunities.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant products, together with an additional depth of understanding of products offered across the wider group.
- Initiate contact and build relationships with allocated prospects to create and convert sales opportunities.
- Ensure that full and accurate details of contact with and development of all prospects are entered and updated on the CRM systems.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- Knowledge of the regional, London and global insurance broking markets.
- Desire, persistence, and hunger to create meetings and win business.
- Strong practical knowledge of strategic account development and appropriate tools.
- Able to move successfully through a mid-market account sales process and successfully and close business when required.
- Comprehensive understanding of new business sales processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with new clients on the phone and face to face.
- Able to deal professionally with internal and external contacts, and ability to represent the business and with a high level of credibility.
- Proven client focus and sales skills.
- Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems that support sales.
Salary/Benefits Information:
- Salary up to £38,000 depending on experience.
- Excellent bonus
- Flexible working - 2 days/week in the office
