Management Accountant

Orka Financial is recruiting a Management Accountant for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Wallingford. The role offers hybrid working with three days each week onsite and a salary of £35,000-£40,000 per annum.

The opportunity

This is a broad position for an experienced finance professional who enjoys owning day-to-day accounting activity while helping a growing team improve its controls and processes. You will combine accurate transactional work with month-end support, statutory tasks and practical problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and manage approval workflows accurately and on time.

• Complete bank, credit-card and balance-sheet reconciliations, resolving differences independently.

• Maintain accounting records, post routine entries and prepare supplier payment runs.

• Work with colleagues and suppliers to resolve billing and payment queries.

• Support VAT returns, year-end activity and audit schedules.

• Maintain strong financial controls and identify improvements to finance processes.

• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team when required.

About you

You will have three to five years' experience in a finance or accounting role, with practical exposure to month-end or year-end close, reconciliations and VAT. Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and confidence using accounting software are important. A relevant degree or part-qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA status would be useful, while experience applying AI tools in a finance setting would be advantageous.
