Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 (Full Time Equivalent) to be pro-rated for 2-3 days per week

Our client is a privately owned family office with a portfolio of hotel and hospitality businesses. They are looking to appoint an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper & Payroll Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function across the group.

This is a hands-on role covering bookkeeping, payroll, invoice processing and month-end support, working closely with the wider business and external advisers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase and sales invoices across the group.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and ensure transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Manage supplier payments, reconciliations and general accounts payable duties.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end processes, including preparation of monthly P&L information.
  • Maintain the accounting records on Xero.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, including starters, leavers, deductions and payroll adjustments.
  • Manage payroll-related administration, including pension contributions and statutory payments.
  • Assist with VAT and other routine finance and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with hotel and hospitality operations teams regarding invoices, expenses and financial information.
  • Support the family office with ad hoc finance and bookkeeping requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi-entity environment.
  • Previous payroll experience is essential.
  • Confident using Xero.
  • Experience with invoice processing, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
  • Comfortable preparing or assisting with monthly P&L information.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience within hotels, hospitality, family offices or owner-managed businesses would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable working independently in a hands-on finance role.

This is a part-time position working 2-3 days per week and would suit an experienced bookkeeper looking for a varied role within a privately owned hospitality group.
