Marc Daniels are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a large, established organisation based in the Berkshire area.
This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working and flexible start/finish times.
This is a broad Finance Manager role combining financial reporting and control with FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of month-end and technical accounting while also working closely with stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge performance and support planning and decision-making.
The FP&A element of the position is expected to increase further over time, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their commercial finance exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
Oversee accounting across revenue, costs, inventory, provisions and the balance sheet
Ensure appropriate application of accounting standards, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
Review journals, reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation, maintaining strong financial controls
Partner with FP&A and wider business teams to provide financial analysis, insight and decision support
Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working with stakeholders to develop robust and accurate plans
Review budgets and forecasts, challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities
Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and root causes of variances
Help improve forecasting accuracy and enhance financial understanding across the business
Support the development of improved budgeting methodologies, reporting and performance tracking
Work closely with shared service teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of finance activities
Drive continuous improvement across reporting, data quality, controls and finance processes
Support audit, risk, governance and compliance activities
Build strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders, acting as a trusted finance partner
Manage, coach and develop members of the finance team
The successful candidate will:
Be a qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
Have strong experience across financial reporting, month-end and financial control
Possess a good working knowledge of IFRS
Have experience of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning
Be comfortable partnering with stakeholders and challenging financial assumptions
Have strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial information into meaningful insight
Have experience of technical accounting and balance sheet ownership
Ideally have experience working with a finance shared service centre
Have exposure to audit, controls, risk and compliance
Have previous experience managing and developing team members
Demonstrate a track record of improving finance processes and controls
Experience within a large, international or multi-entity organisation would be advantageous, as would exposure to systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Hyperion or Trintech Cadency.
