The University of Birmingham is recruiting an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer to support integrated academic and clinical training across General Practice or Otolaryngology specialities. This fixed-term role, funded through the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Integrated Academic Training pathway, combines clinical service and academic development over a period of up to four years or until the trainee gains their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), whichever comes first. The post is situated within the College of Medicine and Health, reflecting Birmingham's commitment to high-quality research, education and translational clinical practice. The role involves approximately 50% clinical specialty training (providing direct service and progressing clinical competencies) and 50% academic training, offering opportunities to undertake post-doctoral research and build a portfolio that supports successful future applications for independent funding and advancement into clinical academic leadership. Applicants should be able to demonstrate outstanding potential through doctoral research success and a clear trajectory toward clinical academic development.
