We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine dealership in the Porthmadog area. Our client is looking for a highly organised and customer-focused person to support their workshop, parts department, shop and online operation. Ideally, you will have a genuine interest in watercraft and the products they sell.
About the role:
Job Title: Shop Manager / Operations Coordinator
This is a key role at the centre of the business. You will be the first point of contact for many customers, so our client needs someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates confidently and makes sure important tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Answering telephone calls, emails and customer enquirie and welcoming customers and dealing with walk-in enquiries
- Booking watercraft into the workshop and providing clear progress updates
- Recording customer contact and follow-up tasks accurately within the company's systems
- Preparing parts quotations, following up enquiries and processing orders
- Ordering workshop parts and checking existing stock before anything is ordered
- Receiving, checking, booking in and correctly storing daily parts deliveries
- Picking, packing and dispatching online ordersand helping maintain accurate shop and online stock
- Processing accessories and individual parts warranty claims
- Monitoring outstanding customer and supplier cases
- Assisting with manufacturer marketing claims and supporting paperwork
- Keeping customer, stock and workshop records accurate and up to date
About you:
- Friendly, professional and confident with customers
- A genuine interest in watercraft, boating or water sports, and enthusiasm for learning about the products
- Strong attention to detail and pride in accurate work, and able to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
- Highly organised, dependable and able to prioritise a varied workload
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Confident communicating by telephone, email and face to face
- Full UK driving licence
Experience in marine or vehicle parts, a dealership, workshop reception, ecommerce or aftersales would be useful, but it is not essential. Attitude, ownership and a real interest in the products matter most. Full product and systems training will be provided.
Working pattern:
- Permanent, full-time position
- Five days per week, including Saturday
- Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm
- Paid 30-minute break
- Bank holidays are normal working days
- Six-month probationary period
