HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established specialist engineering and tanker repair business with the recruitment of an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician. The company has operated for over 30 years and provides specialist maintenance and repair services to the road transport, petrochemical and gas industries.

Permanent, full-time position based in Grangemouth.

Salary

From £40,000 depending on experience + paid overtime

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.
• Carry out repairs to running gear and associated vehicle components.
• Work on specialist tanker and transport equipment where required.
• Complete relevant maintenance and inspection documentation accurately.
• Identify defects and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or similar.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Experience maintaining commercial vehicles, HGVs or trailers.
• Road tanker experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Good understanding of preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Reliable with a strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
• Full specialist tanker training can be provided.
