Job ID: Amazon UK Services Ltd.
Join our Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation International team, where we transform complex automation technologies into efficiently deployable solutions on a global scale. Amazon is seeking an experienced Manager to lead a team of Single-Threaded Leaders (STLs) who own end-to-end program planning, cross-functional orchestration, and delivery governance for complex automation infrastructure deployments across our international fulfillment network.
You will lead and develop a team of program managers who each own full lifecycle delivery of a technology program or cross-functional workstream - from capital approval and planning through deployment execution and steady-state handover. You will design the governance mechanisms, operating cadences, and scalable frameworks that enable your team to drive predictable delivery outcomes across multiple concurrent programs, countries, and stakeholder organizations.
You will influence within a VP organization, advise Senior Managers and Directors on deployment strategy, prioritization trade-offs, and program health, and actively grow the next generation of program leaders.
Amazon's culture encourages an entrepreneurial approach and expects engineers and managers alike to take a high level of ownership in solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
The role could be based in Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, or London with 50% travel across Europe during deployment season, with occasional international travel.
You will set the strategic direction for your team's program portfolio, making prioritization trade-offs and ensuring cross-functional alignment across diverse organizations. You will design governance mechanisms and operating cadences that give your team clear swim lanes and your leadership clear visibility into program health. During deployment seasons, you will coach your program managers through complex stakeholder negotiations and escalation decisions, capturing learnings into team-wide standards.
You will interact daily with diverse functional teams across multiple time zones and organizations - finance, operations, supply chain, engineering, and site selection. You will write effective narratives and present to Senior Managers and Directors, conducting regular meetings with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors. You will build consensus on contentious prioritization decisions, communicate across an increasing diversity of areas (legal, regulatory, finance, operations), and provide the long-term perspective behind business and program choices. You will grow your program managers, run talent reviews, and ensure your team delivers results sustainably. No two days will be the same in our fast-paced environment, offering opportunities for professional growth as part of a collaborative, focused team.
