Head of Asset Management - Lifecycle Delivery

  • Location: Hybrid - 2/3 days Plymouth
  • Contract: 6 Months
  • Rate: £100 an hour Inside IR35

Are you an experienced Asset Management / Engineering leader looking to take ownership of lifecycle delivery across a complex, highly regulated environment. Acting as the senior technical authority for lifecycle asset management, you will shape engineering assurance, reliability, maintainability, asset integrity and whole-life asset strategies. This is a high-impact contract role for someone who can quickly assess the current position, strengthen governance and establish practical frameworks that improve asset performance, resilience and long-term value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement lifecycle management frameworks and standards.
  • Develop maintenance, intervention and renewal strategies.
  • Establish asset criticality and lifecycle planning methodologies.
  • Strengthen engineering governance and assurance.
  • Lead reliability, maintainability and asset integrity improvement.
  • Develop risk-based and reliability-centred maintenance approaches.
  • Identify systemic asset risks and failure trends.
  • Define asset management requirements for major capital programmes.
  • Ensure maintainability and operability are considered through design and handover.
  • Challenge technical solutions where lifecycle requirements are not adequately addressed.
  • Advise senior leadership on engineering, asset and lifecycle risks.
  • Establish scalable methodologies suitable for wider Group adoption.
Key Skills
  • 10+ years' experience in engineering and asset management leadership.
  • Strong lifecycle planning, maintenance and engineering assurance experience.
  • Proven experience in reliability, maintainability and/or asset integrity.
  • Experience in complex, asset-intensive and highly regulated environments.
  • Strong technical governance and stakeholder management capability.
  • Experience supporting major capital programmes.
  • Ability to operate credibly with senior engineering and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Engineering, Asset Management or related technical background, or significant equivalent experience.
  • Chartered professional status preferred/required depending on discipline.
  • IAM Diploma or equivalent asset management qualification desirable.
