Job Description

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join a busy Housing Service based in Stoke on Trent. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess individuals against the scheme's eligibility criteria and support them through the housing process.
  • Provide housing management and tenancy sustainment support to residents with complex needs.
  • Complete regular home visits and inspections to ensure properties are safe, clean and well maintained.
  • Carry out safety checks and identify and report any repairs, hazards or property concerns.
  • Support residents to understand their tenancy responsibilities and maintain their accommodation.
  • Assist with budgeting, rent payments, arrears and financial inclusion.
  • Monitor rent accounts and follow appropriate arrears and tenancy management procedures.
  • Help residents develop practical skills for independent living, including managing their home and daily responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate tenancy records, case notes and reports using online systems and mobile devices.
  • Identify, monitor and report safeguarding concerns in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work with other agencies and professionals to help residents overcome barriers and sustain their tenancies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable people and individuals with multiple or complex needs.
  • Experience within housing, homelessness, supported housing or tenancy sustainment.
  • An understanding of the barriers faced by people who may be excluded from the housing register.
  • Experience supporting people to maintain their accommodation and develop independent living skills.
  • Knowledge of rent accounts, rent arrears and tenancy management processes.
