We are working with a leading professional services organisation within the M&A and technology consulting sector to recruit an experienced M&A Technology Associate Director.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading team supporting some of the most complex and high-profile transactions across the UK and internationally. You will work across the full M&A lifecycle, developing your commercial consulting expertise while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and a diverse range of transactions.

The role offers the opportunity to work across buy-side and sell-side transactions, IPOs and refinancing projects, as well as technology integration and separation programmes.

Flexible working arrangements are supported, with a focus on finding the approach that delivers the best outcomes for both clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

As an M&A Technology Associate Director, you will:

  • Lead and support complex M&A Technology assignments across the full transaction lifecycle.

  • Provide insightful, deal-relevant analysis, recommendations and points of view on IT and technology matters.

  • Develop and review key transaction documentation, including technology integration and separation blueprints, Transitional Service Agreements, status reports and steering committee materials.

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality transaction reports and other M&A work products.

  • Lead the modelling of technology integrations and separations, identifying synergies, one-off costs and ongoing costs.

  • Provide strategic Programme Management Office leadership, helping technology workstreams achieve their objectives and deliverables.

  • Engage with senior client stakeholders and colleagues to drive key activities, manage risks and issues, and facilitate effective decision-making.

  • Research and analyse technology information, including cost data, supplier contracts, licensing agreements and other qualitative information.

  • Lead workshops and executive-level reporting, benefits tracking, change control and stakeholder management.

  • Apply consulting expertise across strategic thinking, programme management and organisational change.

  • Take ownership of quality and risk management, ensuring work is delivered to appropriate professional standards.

  • Contribute to business development activities, including client proposals, thought leadership and sales materials.

  • Lead and develop diverse teams within an inclusive environment where people are recognised for their contribution.

About You

We are looking for an experienced consulting or programme professional with a strong understanding of technology, transformation and the M&A environment.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Significant programme management experience gained within a leading corporate organisation or consulting environment.

  • Strong knowledge of the M&A process, transaction lifecycle and key stakeholders involved in deals.

  • Experience leading, managing and coaching internal or external project teams.

  • Proven experience delivering technology, business process or broader transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to critically assess business plans and underlying assumptions using logical, evidence-based analysis.

  • Confidence discussing strategy, options and implications with senior clients and executive stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish trusted relationships at all levels.

  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and consensus-building skills.

  • Strong financial and analytical capability.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders and contributing to pitches.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience shaping or delivering technology integration and/or separation programmes.

  • Strong knowledge of a particular industry sector, business function or specialist technology area.

What You'll Gain

This is an opportunity to build an impressive breadth of commercial consulting experience while leading high-profile transactions and transformational programmes.

You will benefit from:

  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and complex, high-value transactions.

  • Experience across the complete M&A lifecycle.

  • The opportunity to develop expertise in technology strategy, integration, separation, transformation and programme management.

  • Leadership responsibility within a high-performing and collaborative team.
