Job Description

HR Business Partner - International Brokerage

London Excellent Hybrid Working
£70,000 - £88,000, plus bonus and excellent benefits

Are you an HR Business Partner who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can genuinely influence, build and make things happen?

Our client is a privately owned international brokerage business employing approximately 250 people across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Entrepreneurial, ambitious and continuing to grow, the organisation combines the pace and agility of a growing business with the governance requirements of a regulated environment.

Reporting directly to the Global HR Director, this is an opportunity to become the second most senior HR professional within the business and help develop the HR function as the organisation continues to grow, mature and professionalise.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional HRBP role within an established corporate HR structure.

You'll partner with senior commercial leaders across the business, providing broad HR support across the employee lifecycle while also helping build and improve the processes and infrastructure needed to support continued international growth.

The environment is fast-moving and opportunistic, and priorities can change quickly. You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, use your judgement and be prepared to roll your sleeves up rather than rely on established processes.

Your remit will include employee relations, performance, talent, organisational change and workforce planning, alongside developing areas such as HR systems, processes, governance, data and performance management.

This is genuinely hands-on. At times you'll move from advising senior leaders on broader people issues to dealing with contractual changes, HR data or working with local office administrators across the international business.

A key part of the role will be building relationships, demonstrating the value HR can add and helping create greater consistency across a growing organisation.

About You

You'll already be operating as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager within a commercially focused organisation and enjoy balancing business partnering with a hands-on generalist approach.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong generalist HR and employee relations experience.
  • Experience partnering with senior commercial stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic, commercially minded approach.
  • The ability to operate confidently within a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Experience improving or building HR processes and ways of working.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • A genuinely hands-on and self-sufficient approach.

We'd be particularly interested in HR professionals from brokerage, financial services, insurance, commodities, trading, capital markets or other fast-paced professional services environments.

International or regulated-environment experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Join?

This is a genuine opportunity to help shape an evolving international HR function rather than simply inherit an established one.

You'll work directly with the Global HR Director, have broad international exposure and the autonomy to identify opportunities, improve how things are done and see the impact of your work. The business also offers an excellent hybrid working arrangement, providing genuine flexibility alongside the opportunity to work closely with the business and senior leadership team.

If you're looking for regular routine and a highly structured HR environment, this probably isn't the role for you. If you enjoy ambiguity, building relationships, rolling your sleeves up and helping an entrepreneurial business mature and scale, it could be a fantastic opportunity.

Package: £70,000 - £88,000 plus performance-related bonus, excellent hybrid working, private medical insurance and life assurance.
