HSSE Advisor (Health, Safety, Security, Environment) - Based - Raynesway, Derby DE21, Hours - 40 (Monday to Friday)

What this job involves:

As an HSSE Advisor at JLL, you will play a crucial role in promoting and implementing a proactive health, safety, security, and environmental culture on a highly regulated site on behalf of our client Rolls Royce. Reporting directly to the JLL onsite HSSE Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, clients and site teams to assess risks, develop and execute HSSE strategies, and enforce compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Health and Safety: Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Develop, review policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Provide guidance and support on safe working practices to site teams, contractors, and the clients. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and propose corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.

Security: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support security protocols, including emergency response plans, access controls, and incident management procedures. Evaluate security risks and vulnerabilities within our facilities and make recommendations for improvements.

Environment: Monitor and assess the environmental impact of our operations and develop strategies to promote sustainability. Support waste management processes and recycling programs to minimise environmental footprints. Keep updated on environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and ensuring compliance.

Training and Communication: Deliver HSSE training sessions and support toolbox talks to promote awareness and understanding of policies and procedures. Work closely with internal teams to develop and deliver relevant HSSE communications and campaigns. Support the HSSE Manager in developing and implementing training programs, manuals, guidelines, and other educational materials.

Essential/Desired Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Qualification or equivalent H&S accreditation (IOSH, IIRSM) or willing to work towards Experience within a COMAH, HAZOPS or heavily regulated industry sites Facilities Management or heavy manufacturing based experience.
  • Demonstrate an open communicative style, down to earth approach.
  • Behavioural Safety approach rather than rules based (supportive not punishing)
  • Team player with a Can-Do attitude.
  • Here to help resolve any HSSE concern.
