Senior / Principal Town Planner

Location: Manchester, Leeds or Sheffield

Role Overview

You will play a key role in leading the planning aspects of large-scale infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK. This will involve managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, engaging with stakeholders and ensuring projects meet relevant planning requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic planning activities for major infrastructure and environmental projects.
  • Provide expert planning advice and manage planning applications through the relevant processes.
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, clients and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of complex projects from inception through to completion.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the planning team and wider business.
Requirements
  • Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Significant town planning experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and the planning system.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, environmental or other complex development projects would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Chartered membership of the RTPI is preferred.
