Senior / Principal Town Planner
Location: Manchester, Leeds or Sheffield
Role Overview
You will play a key role in leading the planning aspects of large-scale infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK. This will involve managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, engaging with stakeholders and ensuring projects meet relevant planning requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning activities for major infrastructure and environmental projects.
- Provide expert planning advice and manage planning applications through the relevant processes.
- Liaise with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, clients and other key stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of complex projects from inception through to completion.
- Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the planning team and wider business.
Requirements
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Significant town planning experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and the planning system.
- Experience working on infrastructure, environmental or other complex development projects would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Chartered membership of the RTPI is preferred.
