Cover Supervisor

New Directions Education is seeking confident, experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools throughout the Leeds area on a flexible, ad hoc basis.

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom and ensure learning continues in the absence of the regular teacher. You'll deliver pre-set work, maintain a positive learning environment, and help keep students engaged and on task throughout the day.

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive atmosphere
• Ensuring students remain focused on the work provided
• Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate
• Following school policies and procedures
• Building positive relationships with students and staff

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or within a secondary school setting is essential
• Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading groups of students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability and the ability to work in different schools and environments
• A positive, professional and proactive attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
