Job Title: Locum Consultant Palliative Care

Location: Swansea

Rate: £95-£105p/h

Contract Type: Locum (short-term and long-term assignments available)

Start Date: ASAP - October

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join the team at the South West Wales Cancer Centre on a short-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a specialist service providing high-quality, patient-centred palliative care within a leading cancer centre.

The role is offered for an initial 3-month period, with a Tuesday to Thursday working pattern (6 sessions) and no on-call commitment, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist palliative care to patients within the cancer centre
  • Deliver holistic assessment and management of patients with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care
  • Offer clinical leadership and expert advice to colleagues and partner services
  • Support advance care planning and end-of-life care pathways
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
  • UK Right to Work
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
